Old Orchard Brands Honored by Glass Packaging Institute
Leading Fruit Juice Brand Wins Clear Choice Award for Very Cherre Bottle Design
SPARTA, Mich., Sept. 13, 2010— West Michigan-based Old Orchard Brands® has received a Clear Choice Award from The Glass Packaging Institute (GPI) for the revolutionary design of the company’s Very Cherre™ tart cherry juice packaging. Introduced for the first time earlier this year, Very Cherre is the first product from Old Orchard Brands to be offered in a glass bottle.
Each year, the GPI Clear Choice awards recognize only ten consumer product companies for their outstanding achievements in glass packaging design. Old Orchard was recognized alongside notable brands such as Sam Adams (The Boston Beer Company), Miller Lite and DIAGEO (Smirnoff Premium Malt Mixed Drinks), among others.
“It’s an honor to have our Very Cherre design recognized in the company of such a high-profile group of consumer brands,” said Mark Saur, founder and president of Old Orchard. “There’s something about a beautifully designed glass bottle that can elevate a product to new heights. Very Cherre really demanded that we put equal emphasis on form and function, and glass was the perfect complement. We’re thrilled with our Clear Choice award.”
The Very Cherre bottle was designed in partnership with Muncie, Ind.-based Saint-Gobain Containers, Inc.
