What’s a great Old Orchard recipe post work out?
Yoga is a fantastic way to help get your body and mind physically fit. I always seem struggle a bit with my flexibility and stamina at the beginning of class but by the end I feel stronger and more centered. Your question is great because consuming a healthy diet can not only help you during yoga but also assist with adequate body and mind recovery after your yoga session. The first thing I recommend post workout is to rehydrate. Water is certainly important but I advise that you choose other types of fluids as well. Old Orchard has many juices that would be great for rehydration purposes post workout. You could incorporate any of the 100% juices into a colorful smoothie or choose the 100% Tart Cherry Juice to help ease muscle soreness. Chocolate milk is an incredible post yoga drink because it contains a combination of protein and carbohydrates to help repair muscles and help replenish glycogen stores that were depleted during the workout. Many of my friends are big into coconut water post workout. It is filled with a healthy dose of electrolytes that you may have lost during the yoga session.
You can also help your body rehydrate by choosing foods that have a high water content. You might try a mixed fruit salad. Be sure to add juicy fruits like oranges, grapefruit and berries. Another great post workout meal can be as basic as a sandwich. If I know my yoga class will end close to suppertime I plan ahead and have a pre-made turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread ready to go. I like to add sliced avocado and goat cheese to my sandwich. I pair this meal with my favorite Old Orchard juice which is Cranberry Healthy Balance.
