Couscous with Green Pepper

  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 2 medium green bell peppers, diced
  • 4 medium cloves garlic, crushed through a press
  • 1-1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup precooked couscous
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


  1. In a nonstick pan, over medium heat, melt butter and saute onions until golden brown.
  2. Add green peppers and garlic; saute for another 5 minutes.
  3. Add water, and bring to a boil.
  4. Stir in couscous, cover, and remove from heat.
  5. Let stand 5 minutes, then add salt and pepper to taste.
