Pasta with Garlic Oil

  • Salt
  • 8 oz. whole wheat spaghetti or other pasta
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
  • 1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves


  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. When pasta is done, reserve 1/4 cup of the water, then strain the pasta.
  3. In pasta pot, heat oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes over medium until garlic has begun to brown.
  4. Add reserved pasta water, then pasta and parsley.
  5. Season with salt and toss to combine.
