Green Beans with Almonds

  • 1 1/2 lbs green fresh green beans – ends trimmed
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 t sea salt
  • 3 T olive oil
  • 2 t sesame oil
  • 1/2 t freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 t fresh diced ginger
  • 1/2cup slivered almonds


  1. Cook green beans in covered microwave bowl to which ½ cup water has been added. Cook until crisply tender – approx 6-7 minutes. Drain and set to cool.
  2. In large wok or skillet heat oils – when bubbling add garlic, sea salt, pepper, ginger and almonds.
  3. Cook until almonds begin to brown. Add beans and toss gently to coat with oils and spices and cook additional 2-3 minutes until desired tenderness is achieved. Serve immediately.
