Q. Where can I buy your products?
Our products are sold at most major grocery stores throughout the United States. The product lines and flavors available will vary by retailer. Use our Store Locator to search by zip code for a store that stocks one of our products or product lines.
Q. How can I be sure that your juices are safe to drink?
Product safety is Old Orchard’s top priority. Old Orchard Brands strictly adheres to all requirements and guidelines set by the FDA to ensure the safety and quality of the ingredients we use in our juices. We do not import or use wheat gluten or any imported wheat-based products in manufacturing our juices and/or teas. All Old Orchard juices are blended from scratch in our own facility and we strive to produce superior juice products, backed by necessary heat pasteurization for stability and safety.
Our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Sparta, Michigan meets the highest standards established by the FDA’s Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point program. Furthermore, our facility has passed the stringent inspections and tests required for independent food safety, Kosher and Organic certifications. In addition, Old Orchard employs a full-time Quality Assurance team whose members hold advanced degrees in microbiology and food science. Our QA department inspects all base ingredients and finished goods, and we are confident that we are producing safe, quality products for our consumers.

Q. How long will Old Orchard juices stay fresh after they are opened?
Old Orchard juice products contain no preservatives, so always tightly cap and refrigerate after opening. While we can’t say exactly how long they’ll last, if you keep our juices capped and refrigerated, they should last seven to ten days.
When you store our juices unopened in reasonable conditions, they should be drinkable for up to twelve months from the date of production. This may vary, of course, depending on the juice and the storage conditions.
Q. Are your juices pasteurized?
All of our juices products are pasteurized to make sure that they’re safe to drink. Pasteurization is a heating process that eliminates any harmful bacteria. To make sure that our juices remain fresh, be sure to store opened juices in the refrigerator.
Q. Do you add sugar to your 100% juice products?
No. The amount of sugar shown on the nutrition labels of our 100% juice products is the naturally occurring sugar found in the fruits we use to make our juices.
Q. Why do you add Splenda® to your Healthy Balance juice drinks?
Splenda® (also known as sucralose) is a no-calorie sweetener that we use to sweeten our Healthy Balance juice products in order to keep the sugar content low enough to be suitable for a diabetic or sugar-restricted diet. Splenda® can be safely consumed by the entire family, including children. The safety profile of Splenda® has been proven through more than 100 studies conducted over a 20-year period and is confirmed as safe for use in food and beverages by the FDA.
Q. What does “From Concentrate” mean?
When the fruits that we use are harvested, the water is removed from them. This allows for more efficient shipping and storage, and also allows us to use fruits that are out of season. When we blend the juice, the water is added back, in just the right amounts.
Q. Are your product containers recyclable?
Yes! Our 64oz, 32oz, and 96oz bottles are PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and are a #1 plastic. Their caps are a #7 plastic. The Frozen cans are HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) containers are a #2 plastic and their lids are LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) and are a #4 plastic. All are recyclable in most recycling stations throughout the country. With new recycling methods, the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers is now asking that caps and closures be kept on plastic bottles and containers at the point of recycling.
Q. Do your 100% juices count as fruit servings?
Yes! Each eight-ounce serving of our 100% Juice counts as two servings of fruit. Did you know that the American Cancer Society recommends that you eat five servings of fruits and vegetables each day? Old Orchard 100% Juices can help you meet your “Five-A-Day” goal. Drink up!
Q: Are your products okay to use beyond the Expiration Date?
Our products will have the highest quality and freshness when used by the Expiration Date. However, our juices do not pose a safety issue or health hazard when not used by the Expiration Date, they just may not have the intended color or flavor that our fresh juices have.
Q: How do you read your Expiration Date?
The Expiration Date is printed as: day/month/year. For example, January 1, 2017 would be read: 01JAN17.
Q: Where do I find the UPC, Expiration Date and Lot Number?
The UPC number is found on the side of the bottle or can. Look for the barcode and you will see a series of 10 numbers underneath it, which make up the UPC.
The Expiration Date and Lot Number are printed on the top of the cap for both our bottled and frozen products. The bottled products also have this information etched into one side of the bottle, just above where the Old Orchard logo is molded into the plastic.
If you have a question or comment about one of our products, please be sure to provide us with this information, as it will help us identify the specific batch of juice your product is from.
Q: Can your juices be frozen?
Our bottled or reconstituted juices should not be frozen as this can compromise the overall quality of the juice. Doing so should be at your own discretion.
Q: What are “Natural Flavors” and do they contain MSG?
Natural flavors are concentrated flavors or essences derived or extracted from the fruit itself and do not contain MSG or any artificial ingredients.
Q: Are your juices gluten-free?
Yes, all of our juices are gluten-free.
Q: Do you produce a 100% Cranberry juice?
Due to the tart and acidic nature of cranberries, we do not produce a 100% pure cranberry juice. However, we do make several cranberry flavored juices, including our frozen Cranberry flavored 100% Juice Blend. By adding other fruits, such as apple, we are able to make a palatable cranberry flavored 100% juice without adding sugar or sweeteners.
Q: How come my grape juice concentrate isn’t completely frozen even though it has been in the freezer?
Grape juice is naturally high in sugars, which may prevent the product from completely hardening when frozen. As long as the juice has been properly stored in the freezer, it should be fine to drink even if it is not completely solid.
Q: Are your products Kosher?
Some of our juice are certified Kosher, and contain the Triangle K symbol on the front packaging. Click here to view all of our Kosher products.
Q. How do I know that the juice I am buying is good for me and my family?
Read the ingredients and nutrition facts on the label. Government regulations require that all juice-based products state the exact amount of juice that they contain. The ingredient statement will tell you what types of juice are used. Watch out for artificial flavors and colors, or lots of added sugar.
Q. Our freezer/refrigerator went out due to a power outage, is this juice still safe to drink?
Our juices do not contain any preservatives. Once our shelf-stable juices have been opened we recommend keeping them in the refrigerator and consuming within 7-10 days. For our frozen juice concentrates, if the concentrate has been partially thawed, we would recommend tossing out as it may lead to spoilage. We recommend keeping our frozen concentrates frozen until they are ready to be mixed up. Please reference this USDA Food Safety Guideline on how to keep food safe during and after an emergency, such as a flood, fire, national disaster, or the loss of power.
