Dear Amy, I'm 60 years old and am prone to kidney infections. I have been drinking your Cranberry Naturals and find that my infections have lessened in frequency and when I do get one it is not a bad one, like before. Is this due to the cranberry juice or am I just getting lucky? Sincerely, Jennelee from Allentown

Your question is a good one! Urinary tract infections (UTI’s)are the second most common infection that occurs in the body. Millions of Americans suffer from them each year! Experts suggest that there are a few things one can do to help reduce risk of UTI’s (urinating when one feels the urge, taking showers instead of baths, etc.). Drinking cranberry juice might also help reduce risk of getting a UTI. Researchers suspect that there is a component in cranberry juice that helps prevent bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder and urinary tract. Scientists have conducted many studies looking at this and the research suggests that drinking cranberry juice can help decrease the number of symptomatic infections. The researchers are quick to say that cranberry juice should not be used in the actual treatment of the UTI, but only taken (in addition to a lot of other fluids) to help prevent the onset of a new one. So, I think you are on the right track and drinking the Cranberry Naturals is likely helping you! Good job!
