Frankeinwein (Watermelon Apfelwein)

  • 3 gallons Old Orchard 100% Apple Juice
  • 2 gallons fresh juiced Georgia watermelon
  • 1 lb coconut sugar
  • 1 lb granulated cane sugar
  • 1 pkg Champange yeast


  1. Create a simple syrup from the sugars and about 1/2 gallon of the apple juice.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a sanitized 6 gallon fermenting container and allow to ferment around 72° for 4-5 weeks.
  3. Fermented Frankeinwein can be bottled or kegged to add carbonation or enjoyed immediately over ice, but it does get better with time!
